Testing Blood Sugar for Diabetes Patients

What was measured?

What percentage of HMO members with diabetes had their blood sugar level tested to help manage their disease?

These results are based on a sample of HMO patient administrative and medical records.

Why is it important?

A top goal of diabetes treatment is to control blood sugar levels - high blood sugar is harmful to the body in many ways. Checking the blood sugar level is a key part of good diabetes care.

Look for differences of at least four percentage points.

Smaller differences are often not significant.
