Domestic Violence Service for Families

The Domestic Violence Services for Families (DVSF) program is offered Countywide to any teen or adult victim of intimate partner violence. The DVSF program provides case management, advocacy, court accompaniment and other critical DV services to victims and their children in order to prevent the recurrence of domestic violence. Also offers connection to emergency shelter, support groups, counseling, legal services, immigration assistance, medical care, financial support, batterer's treatment, and services for children.

Program Goals:

  • Prevent the recurrence of violence in families who have experienced domestic violence
  • Ensure children exposed to domestic violence receive essential services to reduce the harmful effects of violence
  • Foster healthy family relationships

This is a 24-hour a day Domestic Violence Hotline for crisis calls, resources, referrals, and shelter availability.

  • All incoming calls will be answered live by a trained licensed crisis counselor
  • Crisis counselors speak English and Spanish

Violence Prevention for Youth

The Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) focuses on efforts to reduce and prevent youth violence. OVP assists providers in strengthening programs by promoting the implementation of evidence-based practices and best practices. In addition, OVP works in partnership with SDSU Institute for Public Health to provide academic review of programs, presentations, and curricula for violence prevention.
