The Aging & Independence bulletin is a six-page monthly publication (except for a December/January issue), which includes a key article from Director Pam Smith, briefs and updates about services, items of interest, a calendar of events, and volunteer opportunities with the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

The Safe Seniors newsletter focuses on preventing elder abuse in San Diego County. Articles include features about related programs and services, items of general interest regarding elder abuse prevention, and a listing of current legislation related to elder abuse. The newsletter is a combined effort of Aging & Independence Services and the District Attorney's office.

Network of Care - AIS

For more information phone 800-510-2020 or send us an email.

Specialized Internet tool for older adults, disabled persons and the people who care about them.

The Network of Care is a Web site that provides a variety of resources for seniors and persons with disabilities, caregivers, and service providers, and is available to San Diego county residents, thanks to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors and the County's Aging and Independence Services.

The Network of Care Web site gives users access to services such as resource guides, information on diseases and conditions, links to current legislation that could affect seniors and the disabled, and more. One unique feature is "My Folder," a protected, individualized site where consumers can place their medical history and prescriptions. Physicians may be referred to the site by their patients.

"I am excited that we can make this service available to the senior and disabled residents of San Diego county, their families and caregivers," says County Supervisor Ron Roberts.

The Network of Care was originally developed in Sacramento and Alameda counties through a grant from the California Department of Aging. Now Aging and Independence Services has had the Web site tailored to the needs of residents here. To access the Web site, click here.
